The restyled IS300 Base is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Toyota five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2002 version.
The IS300 Sportcross is equipped with a Toyota 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Toyota 5-speed Transmission. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Wagon arena.
In 2003 Lexus released the IS300 Sportcross to the car-buying market. The IS300 came in two configurations: Base and Sportcross. The Sportcross configuration is powered by the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 25 highway miles and 18 city. The IS300 competes in the Wagon market segment, in direct competition with Toyota.
