There have been several award-winning trucks from Lexus over the years, including the Lexus LX470 of 2007. There are one trim levels to the LX470, including Base. The Base version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2006 the popular 4.7 liter has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers nationwide.

The restyled LX470 Base is equipped with a 4.7-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Toyota five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2006 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The LX470 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by torsion bar front springs and coil in the rear.
