Several things can be said about the Lexus RX350 series: including the polarizing reactions most buyers have towards their truck. The six-cylinder engine is at the heart of the strong emotions, it is powerful for its class and delivers a large amount of torque.

2007 Lexus RX350 Base Specs

The restyled RX350 Base is equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Toyota five-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2006 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The RX350 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 2007 RX350 is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 19.20 gallons.

The RX350 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of twenty in-city driving and twenty five when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid truck, this was within normal parameters.

In 2006 and 2007 the RX350 Base was availble in the exterior colors of Bamboo Pearl, Black Forest Pearl, Black Onyx, Breakwater Blue Metallic, Crystal White, Flint Mica, Millennium Silver Metallic, Neptune Blue Mica, and Savannah Metallic. Additional options were available as special orders from the factory.

What We Think of the Lexus RX350

The 2006 model began the promise of the Lexus RX350. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Lexus hopes that the RX350 Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
